Project Description:

The power of the people has always taken shape in many forms, the axe, the leash, the ballot, the latter of which represents the modern-day epitome of the people’s power. The voting system translates the power of the people into a representative who fundamentally serves their best interests. What if an alternative mode of democracy was put in play, where the people’s power was physically manifested, the representative was caged and bound, pushed over and pulled away, overpowered by the whims of who he represents. In this perverted democracy, would we then witness the manifestation of the will of the people?
